Better now that it is updated...

I have been using ToDo for iOS for a few years and love it. I even loved the Mac version, but the iCloud sync is totally messed up and Appigo’s develoment and support team are completely useless. I have reported the issue since Novemember and every week I get a response of “it is submitted to Apple”, “we are waiting for Apple”, “it is Apple’s fault”, etc… I have multiple applications that have updated so I know Apple is approving updates for Mac, it is clearly a delay tactic by this company. Many people have been complaining about this and starting a new year with a productivity application that simply doesn’t work is not acceptable. It is now time for a New Year and a new app, good bye todo, good bye Appigo… It was nice knowing you… UPDATED: 1/13/15 Today Appigo finally updated the App and I immediately started using it. First you have to add iCloud as your sync service but after that so far so good. The UI is cleaner and looks more like Yosemite than in the past, so that is a positive. I will continue to increase the star ratings after I have used it for a few weeks and there are no issues. I will never give it 5 stars because it took Appigo 4 months to upgrade to support Yosemite and iCloud, even though a Developer Preview has been available for at least 9 months prior. Hopefully, Appigo will put more effort into it next time and stop spending time/effort on their own ToDo Cloud service.

Disappointing...

Hasn’t been updated for Yosemite so it crashes all the time and doesn’t sync using iCloud. Too easy to lose data or get duplicate data moving everything to Dropbox. Doesn’t have the Yosemite UI. Pretty disappointing for something I had become addicted to. Things seems a better supported ToDo system.

Works for Toodledo Sync

I’ve been using Todo to sync with Toodledo and it has always worked fine. The only issue I’ve had with the desktop version is frequent crashing and since updating I have not had any crashes or hiccups. I’m going to be optimistic and say that, for me, it’s returned to a top performing task app.

By far the best todo for this price

Good parts: + Nice app for a relatively low price + Consistant interface on OS X and iOS + Fantastic Dropbox sync. Very few todo apps support Dropbox backend and this is by far the best one + Default starred tasks and focus lists are awesome + Ability to create lists, pick colors, contexts, tags, drag n drop, full text search, keyboard shortcuts are so wonderfully done + One level deep tree based project lists are my go to feature for work based projects + Add tasks from the iOS share button inside any app + Brilliant task parsing lets you add one line task “!!! Get milk @momnpopshop #grocery (today 7:00pm)” which auto-translates the task name “Get milk” with “Very high priority” with a context “momnpopshop” with a tag “grocery” at “7pm today” + Allows setting recurring alarms for non-calendar tasks like “Mowing the lawn every two week until Fall starts” Needs work: - When adding notes to a task, undo (cmd + z) does not work at all. This means if you delete your notes by mistake and want to revert back, then good luck! - Missing auto background sync every X minutes even when app is not open - Once a task action URL is entered, the user should be able to edit the URL Nice to have: * Please do a 30 or 60 second video demo highlighting all your cool features * Add more colors to the default palette * Notes for any task is begging for markdown support (at least for developers) * Haven’t seen any crashes. I don’t use iCloud. Don’t create your own cloud backend * Do not add task sharing and over complicate the current good UX Very very satisfied overall.

Were’s the iCloud Support?

Come on Appigo… can we get the iCloud issue fixed?!

Save your money; there are much better options

One of the least-usable productivity apps I’ve ever seen. Little-to-no documentation (at least that I can find). Terribly clunky UI for editing tasks — pops up in a little iOS-looking window, can’t tab through, very few keyboard shortcuts (or maybe there are others explained in the non-existent documentation). Absolute must-miss for power users. Just awful.

With latest update, app crashes immediate on start.

If it crashes on startup, it deserves zero stars. Crashes on starup, every single time.

A great app that I depend on everyday

This is the best todo/GTD app available. Ive been a loyal user for several years, and I routinely use the iOS app and Mac desktop App, with the Todo Cloud subscription. I will continue to use and recommend this app.

Great app, poor support

ToDo as designed is a great app for power to-do list types, including GTD folks. Ive used it for years and invested hours in setting up my personal management system. Which is too bad, because its reliability and support continues to deteriorate. My impression is of developers who are either too small to provided fast customer service or perhaps too financially strapped to continue. Whatever the reason, the app has too many problems and too little support. Same holds true for the iOS equivalent. My latest problem with the Mac app is that after last weeks update it crashes every time I try to open it. I received a prompt reply from customer support, but it only said that they could "replicate the problem" and were "turning it over to the developers." From past experience I know this means that they may solve the problem, someday, if I notice (since they wont notify me). In the meantime, I cant use the Mac version - which means that I cant manage tasks from my keyboard and sync to my iPhone. That breaks perhaps the most important feature of the ToDo suite for me, yet I have no idea if and when it will be fixed. Im seeking an alternative app now, but I dont look forward to transfering all of my tasks to a new program. If you havent yet started with the ToDo suite, save yourself some trouble (and money). Just dont go down this particular road.

(Still) No Update for Support

The app still doesnt even know that Mac OS X 10.10 exists. This is despite the fact that it has been updated in January 2015. So it leads to the app to not function normally for Yosemite users. For example, it does not allow us to enable iCloud because it thinks the OS does not support iCloud (though obviously 10.10 does support it). Its been more than 3 months since OS X 10.10 released, and still no update.

Agree with last reviewer. Good app, poor support, Mac App Store also at fault.

I upgraded to verion 3.0.4 from 3.0.2 on the App Store. The app stopped working with my supported OS version. I too was told they can reproduce the problem, but offered no fix, no previous version, just an offer to be a beta tester….(?) Software that was working and Ive paid for simply has stopped working. When you have your work and personal tasks on a software program, syncing between desktops and mobiles, going a week without it is a significant hiccup. Apple is also at fault for annihilating the last version of software updated from their App Store and offering no mechanism to download previous versions. At least on iOS apps you can pull updated apps out of the trash when they are upgraded to failure! Simply going back to 3.0.2 would fix the issue for me but this simple solution seems to be too difficult for Apple or the developers to arrange.

Been using this for years, I’m done

I got the iOS app several years ago and was impressed when it first came out. It was the first app I’d recommend people spend the money on as opposed to just getting free simpler ones. I got the mac app more recently so I’d be able to manage things during the day on my laptop and switch to my phone in off work hours. I’ve only used the iCloud sync, but it’s horrible. I’ve put up with it long enough, and I’m done. It’s unpredictable, when it does sync tasks that were completed on the syncing device show up on the other as incomplete, and I’ve lost all my tasks at least twice. Maybe the other services sync better, but I’m not paying to upgrade when the experience so far has been so bad. Back when I got the ios app it was the best around, these days there are tons of options and this has lost me more time than it’s saved. After years of work this company still can’t manage to reliably synchronize a list. Move on.

Done with it

There are only so many chances I can give to this once great app that has been steadily declining in quality over the past year. It has become inconsistent, unreliable and unusable as a result. The growing number of bugs, the inability to squash old ones, and the persistent sync problems have made me abandon ship for a new task manager. (I dont know which one yet.) Shame, but I wont be coming back. Ive wasted far too much of my time trying, unproductively, to make this "productivity" app work like its supposed to.

ToDo for Mac does not sync with iPhone and iPad

Purchased Mac version so that I could sync all my devices. Made purchase based on claim that sync was possible over iCloud. Have contacted support without any success in resolving sync issures. Was a very good app when first released.

Great App - could not live without it

I have this app for my iPhone and Macbook and it is the ONLY way I can stay organized. Customer support is fantastic and very helpful. Cannot say enough good things about the app on both iOS and MacOS. It just works seamlessly.

Now iCloud -and- Dropbox don’t work

Todo still does not support iCloud sync in 10.10.2 between iOS and OS X. And as of Todo for the iPhone 8.2.1, the sync no longer works with the OS X version. Inside the sync file on DropBox there is a new v13.sqlite database, but the Mac version still uses the v12.sqlite Seriously?? Who thought it was a good idea to roll out a one-sided update that breaks the sync? I greatly enjoy the tradeoff between functionality and simplicity versus OmniFocus. However, the sync issues between the OS X and iOS versions have been a PIA!

Syncing with Dropbox broken

Tried to reinstall software and did not reflect updates from iOS Todo App. Now doesn’t sync at all with dropbox.

Loyalty Waning - Ongoing Crashes & Sync Issues

I’ve used Todo for years now and love all it’s features. I use the iOS version most, but find having the synced Mac version invaluable to my productivity and workflow. For the past 1.5yrs I’ve found that the Mac app crashes frequently (at least once per session). I keep hoping that each new update will fix this issue, but the problem persists. Even more frustrating is the continual difficulty I have syncing (using either Dropbox or iCloud). Currently syncing with Dropbox or iCloud doesn’t work at all. I’ve switched to syncing over my home WiFi network which, naturally, only works when I’m home. I’d consider paying for Appigo’s Todo Cloud, but my experience with Todo for Mac doesn’t instill confidence in their ability to create a reliable service. Appigo, I’ve loved the time we’ve had together, but these issues have gotten frustrating enough that I’m considering leaving you for another app. Please don’t let it come to that.

Major Fail with the last update

Drop Box and iCloud Sync are gone? Is this a screw up on your part or a setup for more money? Isn’t it enough that I bought both the Ap and the Mac version of your programs? I’m not going to pay for your sync service as well. It’s just not that much better. Please fix the sync with dropbox!!!!

agreed - loyalty being tested

great app - when it synchs and doesn’t crash - ongoing problem that no one else seems to have - please fix - then my rating goes back to 5
